09/10/2023 - National Showcase - Thousand Oaks, CA Connor is an athletic RHP/OF who is a top prospect on the diamond. On the mound, he works to a controlled balance point, has smooth separation and fires from a clean/loose arm action. He gets strong glove-side lead and stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 87-90 mph. Slider shows 11/5 shape with late / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. In the OF, defensive abilities are at near a pro level as he utilizes his aggressive feet as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness (7.31 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry (91 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, hitting / power potential is outstanding through an athletic, open setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap to gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight from backside into a firm front side. With 2 years to further develop, Connor has a big upside and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches and pro scouts with his baseball abilities.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
