Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 2B/RHPPosition Projection

12/20/2022 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at JRTC - Session 1 Connor is a 2023 2B/RHP who showcased his skills during the BF Christmas Camp and Tournament. At 2B, he works to center the ball and make routine plays. Does a good job of keeping balls in front of him. He made accurate throws across the diamond from a 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 84mph. On the mound, he is centered, with a relaxed leg lift, and works down the mound. He does a good job of hiding the ball and gets the proper stride length. Attacks hitters with a FB topping out at 76mph with plus command, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with tight spin, and a changeup with good movement that he throws with FB arm speed. In 2 innings of work, Connor punched out 2 hitters and induced soft contact. At the plate, he sets up in an athletic and even stance with high hands. Has a controlled load with activated hands. Showed ability to get on-plane early with good barrel control. He hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 82mph during BP. During the live games, he reached base 3 times with a single and 2 base on balls. Overall, Connor is a good player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

11/13/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Delray Beach, FL Connor is a tall, lean RHP/2B who will graduate in 2023. At 2B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. He utilizes his foot quickness (7.28 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry (84 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 74-76 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sink. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Connor has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
