10/06/2012 - 2012 Team One Texas Showcase Connor is a strong, athletic SS/RHP that will graduate in 2013. Currently, he projects best on the mound for the next level. Delivery is sound, repeatable as he displays outstanding mechanics that allows his arm action to work loose / free to the plate. Arm strength is outstanding as he topped out at 88 mph. Fastball shows a range of 84-88 mph with slight arm side run. Breaking ball is a quality pitch, displaying 11/5 shape with sharp breaking action. He attacks hitters as he throws strikes with all his pitches, locating to both sides of the plate. At SS, foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 7.02 60 time. Feet are quick, athletic as he attacks ground balls and plays through a low approach. Hands are soft / clean / sure as he makes all the plays and shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double play. At the plate, Lowrie shows an athletic setup with rhythm. Hands are quick, generating bat speed through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with the baseball jumping off his bat when centered. Connor has an upside on the mound and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches, possibly as a two-way player.
