06/06/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Texas This athletic RHP has a 3-pitch arsenal in which he will keep hitters guessing. Arm works free & clean as he drives downhill toward the dish. FB jumps out of his hand and has life, cracking the mitt at 92 mph. Breaking ball has good depth with 11/5 shape. He commands it well and can throw it for strikes in any count. He works the ball in and out and keeps it down in the zone. Connor still has more in the tank which bodes well for this RHP who already sits in the low 90's.

09/28/2014 - College PREP - Conway, AR Connor is a young, lanky SS/RHP that will graduate in 2018 and has potential at both positions. Foot speed is slightly above average as indicated by his 7.44 60 time. At SS, defensive grade are slightly above average, showing smooth / athletic actions. He works to play through balls with his body and moves well side to side. Hands are soft / sure and he presents well out front. Throws are accurate with carry and he throws from multiple arm angles as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup and displays solid hit / power grades. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed to and through the point of contact, creating extension. He has strength in his swing, showing plus barrel accuracy with the baseball jumping off the bat when centered. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields. On the mound, arm strength is well above average as indicted by his top velocity of 82 mph. Fastball shows a range of 80-82 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength and works to throw more strikes. With 4 years to further develop, Connor has the makings of a special type player and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
