01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Connor is a powerful backstop with a tremendous future on the diamond. With flexion and good sway he pockets pitches with a soft/sure mitt. Pop times are in the low 1.96 range with accuracy and on line zip (87 mph velocity) through his target. At the plate, he has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped (85 mph exit velocity) through the zone as he connects with strength. The ball jumps off of his barrel as he crushes it to the gaps. A talented prospect - he will make things happen both behind the dish as well as with the bat.

10/24/2018 - Under Armour SoCal Classic, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Connor is a coachable C prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the SoCal Classic. Behind the plate, Connor takes good angles and centers the ball when blocking. He lets the ball travel to him and receives with a firm glove. He makes a quick exchange on his throws to 2B and keeps them accurate with good carry through the bag. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a closed stance and is smooth getting into his load. He hits from a strong front side and takes a level swing to the ball, leading to consistent line drives and pop to his pull side. Overall, Connor is a talented prospect who has the skill set to produce at the next level.

12/27/2017 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Connor continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.13. At the plate, hitting abilities are now well above average through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a plus feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap power. At the event, he was 5 for 6 with 4 BB as displays a strong recognition of the strike zone. Behind the plate, he continues to shine. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 1.96. Feet are aggressive in working in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Arm strength is tremendous (88 mph velocity) with accuracy and on line carry to his throws. He shows a solid setup and soft glove action, sticking balls in the zone well. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front and is a wall behind dish. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

09/03/2017 - College PREP - San Francisco, CA Connor is a lean catcher who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying solid hitting / power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Behind the plate, feet are active in working in line to his target through a clean transfer exchange. Pop times showed a range 2.19-2.27 with accuracy and carry (85 mph velocity) on his throws, showing outstanding arm strength. Times will continue to drop as he works to get rid of the baseball quicker. He tracks balls well and sticks balls. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process and is a wall behind the plate. Receiving / blockings skill show as outstanding tools that will play well at the next level. With 2 years to further develop, Connor has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
