10/19/2016 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Connor continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with the makings of a special type player at the next level. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.16. In the OF, defensive abilities are now outstanding. He reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. Range is a plus as he covers a lot of ground and shows big play potential in the OF. He works behind the baseball and plays through with momentum to his target and gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, hitting abilities are now well above average with outstanding power potential. Hands are quick (91 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. At the event, he was 2 for 7 with a 2B and 3B. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 82 mph. Fastball shows good arm side run. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with sharp break. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters, throwing strikes with all his pitches. He maintains good composure and competes on the bump. With 2 years to further develop, Connor has a big upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.

08/21/2016 - College PREP - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Connor is a tall, athletic RHP/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.22. In the OF, feet are quick aggressive as he takes proper first steps in getting on proper routes to track down balls . He plays through balls well with momentum to his target. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process and he gets rid of the baseball quickly with throws displaying accuracy. At the plate is where he shows best with well above average power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and works inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. On the mound, he continues to shine. Fastball showed a range of 79-81 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run and sink. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
