12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Connor is an OF/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the Christmas Camp & Tournament. In the field, Connor shows active footwork with a quick first step. He fields the ball out in front of his body and gains ground well on his throws, working to keep them accurate to his target. Long tossing can help Connor build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a soft stride. He works to barrel up the baseball and drives the ball to his pull side. Connor can generate more pop off the barrel by engaging his lower half more. On the mound, Connor gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Connor shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits at 66mph with 10-4 break. Extending through his release can help Connor improve his pitch command. Overall, Connor is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

12/11/2020 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Connor continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.20 runner. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 1 for 2 with 2 BB. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He work to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally and utilizes his quick feet in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/20/2020 - National Tryout Plus - Bradenton (Tampa), FL Connor is a lanky and athletic 2023 2-way prospect. In the OF, Connor starts in an athletic stance, he makes the routine play on fly balls, and makes accurate throws. At the plate, Connor starts in a squared stance and rotates his backside through the ball. He has good pitch recognition and looks to drive the ball to the pull side. On the bump, Connor gets some run on his fastball and has tight spin with good depth on his curveball. He gathers over the rubber, he finds a balance point, and separates on time. He has a strong front side and works north to south in his delivery. Connor has some ability on the mound and we hope to see his progress in the future.

07/21/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Connor continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with tight spin and late break. Stock to the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength and works to throw more strikes. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a crouched setup with balance. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a solid line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude and good instincts with plays with a lot of energy.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
