06/23/2018 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Connor is an athletic built shortstop prospect who has a talented skill set. As a right-handed hitter, Connor has a square, athletic stance with a centered balance and firm front side. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and short stride. Connor shows fast bat speed with an on-plane swing path getting good extension. He has an aggressive approach and consistently lands the barrel to the baseball producing hard contact. Connor has the ability to drive the ball to each gap with power. In the field, Connor plays with fluid, active footwork and covers good ground in each direction laterally. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a square, athletic position. Connor has a clean exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He plays through the baseball with momentum towards his target showing consistently strong throws across the diamond. Overall, Connor is a great teammate with an above average skill set who can make an impact at the next level.

12/03/2017 - College PREP - Sacramento, CA Connor is a tall, athletic SS who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying outstanding hitting abilities with well above average power potential through an athletic setup. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball jumping off the bat when centered. In the MIF, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Hands are soft / sure and presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double play. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry across the diamond, showing a well above average arm. With 3 years to further develop, Connor has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
