05/07/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Bowie, MD Connor showed only in the OF at the event and has improved his abilities in the OF. Defensively, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat but needs to work on getting behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. Glove action is firm / clean and he presents well out front. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open / athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact and uses his lower half well with power showing best to the pull side.

04/02/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Bel Air (Baltimore), MD Connor continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a solid runner at 7.36. At the plate, hitting potential has improved the most through a squared / crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel, displaying gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. He is aggressive but needs to work to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

11/05/2015 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Connor is a 5'9/185 lbs OF that showed an ability to hit for power at the Baseball Factory National Select Training and Competition at Pirate City. In the box, he had a square stance and got his hands activated to hit. He kept his head still through contact and showed an ability to pull the ball with plus pop. He worked during the week at becoming more fluid and rhythmic to hit, boosting consistency with hard contact. In the OF, he made the routine plays and got to his fielding position on-time. His glove played sure and he showed good overall athleticism making plays. All in all - Connor is an intriguing player with a strong frame and lots of time to continue progressing and molding his ability.

09/19/2015 - Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend (Ages 14-18) Connor does a nice job taking a soft and square stride and activating the hands in his loading mechanism. The bat does have a tendency to wrap at times creating length in the stroke but when the barrel is controlled on the launch the stroke is more direct and compact. Connor should continue to work on allowing the ball to travel a bit deeper into the hitting zone with more consistency; when contact points are proper the ball jumps off the barrel nicely. Just a 2019 graduate, Connor displays some present ability with room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
