02/12/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Las Vegas, NV Connor continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate, power abilities have improved, now showing outstanding potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strong hands and strength in his swing with power showing best to the pull side. In the OF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. He utilizes his feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles and utilizes two hands well through the fielding process. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 78 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Off speed stuff show potential as being quality pitches. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Connor has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches, possibly as a two-way guy.

10/19/2016 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Connor showed as a hard working player and great teammate at the event. He continues to show the makings of a solid player at the next level as he continues to progress his game. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. He works behind the baseball and plays through with momentum to his target and gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop.

06/12/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Las Vegas, NV Connor continues to show a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date at 7.15. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid, displaying smooth / athletic actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Hands / feet work well together with accuracy and on line carry to his throws. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through a level / aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and works to stay inside the ball, displaying gap to gap pop. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 70-73 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound.

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Connor is a 2018 grad who has some present strength through his lower half and a solid all-around game. He patrols the outfield well and plays through balls well. His arm is loose and free with good accuracy. His feet work well and he reads balls well off the bat. Connor has a simple swing that is quiet but aggressive. He has a line drive path and is on time. Overall, this is a young prospect to follow as we anticipate some big gains over the next few years.

12/27/2015 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Connor is a hardworking player and has improved his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he has improved the most, now showing well above average hitting abilities with solid power potential. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He shows good barrel accuracy with baseball jumping off his bat when centered, displaying gap to gap power. At the event, he was 3 for 6. In the OF, he utilizes his feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and works to get behind ball, playing through with momentum to his target. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with life and carry on his throws. On the mound, he shows 2 quality off speed pitches through a repeatable / sound delivery. Fastball showed in the high 60 range with a 10/4 shape breaking ball that displays late bite. He throws a cutter with tight spin and short break. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches, attacking hitters. With 3 years to further develop, Connor has the makings of a special type player and one to follow for sure.

09/13/2015 - College PREP - La Verne (Los Angeles), CA Connor is an athletic RHP/OF that will graduate in 2018. Foot speed is slightly above average as indicated by his 7.47 60 time. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are aggressive as he works to get behind balls as he works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. He reads balls well off the bat with hands / feet working well through the fielding process. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He shows good barrel accuracy and works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a solid line drive approach. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 70-73 mph. Slider displays 10/4 shape with short break. He throws a cutter that resembles his slider. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to throw more strikes. With 3 years to further develop, Connor has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
