11/09/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Conor continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.30. Feet are active working in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Glove action is soft as he sticks balls well in the zone. He uses his body well through the blocking process and is a wall behind the plate. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

07/17/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Rindge, NH Coner is a C/2B who will graduate in 2021. Defensively behind the plate, he displays a quiet/athletic setup with active footwork. He receives pitches with soft hands and gets rid of the ball with a quick/clean exchange. Over at 2B, he takes solid angles and fields GB's with smooth hands. He has a clean exchange and fires the ball with loose arm action accurately to his target. With the stick, Coner presents smooth rhythm to load. He utilizes his lower 1/2 and squares up pitches spraying them to all parts of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Catching
1. Quicker footwork
2. Work around more
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Infield
1. Prep step
2. Play lower
2. Attack the GB more
Offense
1. Improve bat speed
2. More lower 1/2 drive
3. Level out swing path

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
