06/25/2013 - College PREP - Bellevue (Seattle), WA Connor is an athletic RHP/OF with a strong lower half that will graduate in 2014. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 7.09 60 time. Feet are quick / athletic as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and works to get behind, playing through well with momentum to his target. He displays fluid actions and gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy / carry on his throws. At the plate, Scanlan continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed as he attacks to and through the baseball at contact. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off his bat when centered. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 77-81 mph with slight arm side run. Changeup is his best off speed pitch, showing a feel for with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape but needs to work to stay on top of pitch more. Stock the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Conor has potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.
