10/09/2019 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Cooper continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and is a top prospect on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.00 runner. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his quick feet in covering a lot of ground. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and zip on his throws but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting abilities are now outstanding through a crouched setup. Hands are quick (92 mph exit velocity) and works through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 4 for 10. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

05/19/2019 - College PREP - Redwood City (San Francisco/San Jose), CA Cooper is a scrappy C/OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them on-line to his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth getting into his load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to solid contact and line drives. Overall, Cooper is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
