07/14/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Frisco (DFW), TX Corbin is a very talented SS who continues to shine. At SS, he is aggressive coming to get the GB working fluidly right to left. Hands are soft/sure with a quick release to throw. At the plate, this switch hitters shows well from both sides. He takes a hack with quick hands and + bat speed, connecting and hitting consistent/hard line-drives, spraying it to all parts of the field. Corbin has the skills that will make an impact on the diamond.

12/15/2018 - Texas Regional Offensive Skills Weekend (Ages 12-14) Corbin is a coachable RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Texas Skills Weekend. On the mound, Corbin shows a simple starter step and gathers to a balance point over the rubber, separating his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and finishes square to the plate. Corbin shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 59mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 44-48mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 50-52mph. Extending through more on his release can help Corbin improve as a pitcher. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He gets his hands activate on time and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed and good extension through the ball, leading to consistent contact and line drives. Corbin can improve as a hitter by taking a softer stride. With six more years to develop, Corbin has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

01/06/2018 - Southwest Regional Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Ages 12-14) Corbin is an athletic and hard working 2025 prospect. He's a student of the game and made several adjustments during the Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, Corbin starts in an athletic stance and get his front foot down on time. He has rhythm in his hands and loads them into the launch position. He attacks the ball with his lower half and stays balanced through contact. Continuing to attack the inside part of the ball and getting extension through contact will Corbin to create backspin on the ball. Keeping a middle approach will help him drive the ball to all fields. Corbin will continue to improve with experience and repetition. We hope to see his progress in the future.

11/05/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Plano (DFW), TX Corbin is a skilled, young 2-way player (SS/RHP) who excels at the plate. Offensively, this RHH displays an athletic setup with centered balance. He gets loaded with good hand separation and is ready to jump on pitches in the zone. Quick hands whip the barrel to and through the zone as he connects with some pop and hits line-drives. At SS, he is aggressive to come and get the GB and funnels the ball in with smooth hands. He has a clean exchange and makes accurate throws across the diamond. On the mound, Corbin has a 3-pitch mix coming from a 3/4 arm slot. He works to a tall balance point, gets good glove tuck and repeats well. FB ranges from 54-56 mph while slider has 10/4 shape. Continuing to work on the following will help to improve his overall skills on the diamond.

Offense
1. Contact points
2. Lower 1/2 drive
Defense
1. Play through the ball
2. Footwork on approach to GB
3. Glove presentation

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
