01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Corbin continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. Behind the plate, pop times were in the 1.90 range with accuracy and zip (89 mph velocity) on his throws. Feet are active, working in line to his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. He plays with a ton of energy and shows the ability to handle a pitching staff with his receiving / blocking skills. At the plate, he continues to shine. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work inside the baseball as he utilizes all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball jumping off the bat when centered with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 84-85 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. A projectable catcher, Corbin has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the top college coaches and pro scouts with his baseball abilities.

12/20/2018 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Corbin continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, delivery is sound and repeatable allowing arm action to work loose and quick to plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 86 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late / sharp break and shows as an outstanding pitch that will get louts. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound. Behind the plate, feet work in line to his target through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.03 range with accuracy and zip (89 mph velocity) on his throws. He shows a solid setup and presents a low target. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process and centers balls well out front. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and is a solid team player.

10/14/2018 - College PREP - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Corbin is a long, athletic two-way player who gets it done all over the field. He is very advanced defensively behind the plate, receiving and blocking with ease to control the game. He has agile footwork to slide and block quickly with a soft chest to keep everything close. His hands are soft and quick as he gets rid of the ball for low pop times to second (1.95 seconds). At the dish, he shows rhythm to load and launch on a direct path to the ball. He has feel for the barrel and has fast bat speed to hit hard line drives from gap to gap. On the mound, he shows a FB/CB mix with sink on his fastball in the low 80's and 11-5 break on the curve, He is around the zone consistently and can induce weak contact with his command and the life on his stuff. Pitching with more intent will unlock more velocity moving forward. Corbin is a talented player with a bright future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
