Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

04/11/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Oklahoma City, OK Corbin is a 2022 1B/RHP. Medium frame athletic build with square shoulders and projectable frame with room to add muscle throughout. Primary 1B, showed ability to make the routine plays. Good crossover step allows him to get to balls. On-line throws across the diamond from a high 3/4 slot with an arm velocity of 75mph. Secondary righthanded pitcher, who throws with intent and is around the zone. Throws from a high 3/4 release point. Fastball has some tailing action to it through the zone and was up to 70mph. Flashed a curveball with 10/4 shape. Righthanded hitter, begins with an open and upright stance. Short/square stride as he glides into contact with some hand separation. Direct path with ability to stay flat through the zone. Ability to square up a baseball and hit line drives with a bat exit velocity of 79mph. As he continues to mature and develop, we see him having an opportunity to play at the next level.

11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Corbin is a coachable 1B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Select Training & Competition at Pirate City. In the field, Corbin shows efficient footwork and flashes good lateral range. He fields with soft hands and makes a clean exchange, keeping his throws accurate and on-line to his target. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Corbin improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and works to barrel up the baseball. Corbin can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. On the mound, Corbin works fast and keeps his pitches around the zone. He shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 51mph. Breaking ball sits from 47-48mph. Gathering to a balance point over the rubber can help Corbin improve as a pitcher. With four more years to develop, Corbin has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/08/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Wichita, KS Corbin is a tall, 2-way player who plays 1B and RHP. Defensively, Corbin has good pre-pitch actions, he is aggressive to the ball, and he takes proper angles when fielding. He plays with good energy, has a clean exchange, and throws with a short arm action to his target. On the mound, Corbin keeps his eyes on target, he separates on time, and lands in a square direction toward home while competing in the zone. Offensively, Corbin has a tall/square set-up, he has a middle of the field approach, and a direct barrel through the ball. He has quiet actions and makes consistent contact. Corbin can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
