Official Scouting Report

  • RHP/CPosition Projection

06/09/2019 - College PREP - Medford (Boston), MA Corbin lowered pop times (2.10 seconds), and raised hitting numbers to 48 and 45 during his last workout with The Factory. On the mound, this RHP has a smooth delivery, a clean arm circle, and he gets good extension on his pitches. He works on a downhill plane, competes in the zone, and shows a solid upside. Behind the plate, Corbin blocks and receives well, he keeps his chin down, and his hands are firm. He has efficient footwork behind the dish and throws with momentum and carry to 2nd base. Offensively, Corbin has a good base, an athletic stance, and solid balance. He has fast bat speed, makes square/direct contact, and he uses his lower body.

11/18/2018 - College PREP - Marlborough (Boston), MA Corbin is an athletic RHP/3B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Corbin gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. Corbin shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 81mph with good life. Breaking ball displays sharp 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 70-71mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. In the field, Corbin shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, getting good carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and leads well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed which leads to loud contact and gap to gap pop. Overall, Corbin is a talented prospect who shows the skill set to contribute at the next level.

08/01/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Corbin is a strong, athletic two-way prospect who has made some significant strides as a player. He shows feel on the mound with the ability to throw either of his pitches for strikes in any count. His delivery has good tempo as he stays in sync and directional towards the plate, working down in the zone. He features a fastball in the low 80's with arm side action and an 11-5 curveball with late break to produce ground balls and put hitters away. At the dish, his bat speed jumps out as he explodes through the zone on a level path to crush line drives all over the field. He is short to the ball and his lower half generates good pop to drive the ball for extra base ability. At the hot corner, he has firm hands to field and handle hard hit balls down the line, showing a quick exchange to throw. His arm is accurate across the diamond and he feeds the DP well. Speed and agility drills will improve quickness and range to get to every ball. Corbin is an intriguing, young prospect who has a bright future ahead of himself.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
