01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Corbin is a strong (6'2"/220) 3B who continues to impress and did so again during his time at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season event. A power bat - he steps into the box looking to do damage. Quick hands whip the barrel to and through the zone as he connects and sends the ball screaming with an impressive exit velocity of 99 mph. He doesn't get cheated and will be a run producer at the next level. At 3B, he maintains active prep footwork and is smooth into an athletic fielding position. Hands are presented out front, funneling cleanly to a quick exchange. Shaw is fun to watch when he steps onto the diamond. With his strength and athleticism he is one to keep an eye on in this only his junior season.

10/27/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures South Corbin is a corner infielder who can swing it. At the plate, he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack, crushing the ball to all parts of the field. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed (94 mph exit velocity) through an aggressive swing path. At 3B, he has plus lateral range (7.12 60 time), working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping them (83 mph velocity) across the diamond. With 2 years to further develop, Corbin will play at a very high level and make an immediate impact.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
