01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament
Corbin is a 2027 SS who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. At SS, showed athletic actions, with active/efficient footwork, and showed good body control at baseball. Fields from a low/square fielding position with hands out front. Creates momentum on his throws from a 3/4 arm slot, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 75mph. Showed good touch on his DP feeds and pivots. At the plate, this switch hitter hits from a crouched and square stance with low hand set. Has fluid rhythm to swing and keeps his hands inside the baseball. A short barrel path enables him to spray balls consistently to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 73mph during BP. Overall, Corbin is a solid player who has the potential to build on his skills with continued growth and development.
01/15/2021 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Pirate City (MS)
Corbin continues to shine on the diamond and worked hard on his skills at Pirate City. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter but projects best as RHH. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At the event, he was 2 for 3 with 2 2B. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.
Academic All-American Tournament (MS)
Corbin is a class of 2027 SS/RHP prospect. In the field, he does an excellent job of fielding the baseball out front. Shows good footwork taking him to the baseball. Shows off a clean and short arm action helping deliver throws across the diamond on time. At the plate, he starts in a simple and square stance. Does a good job of repeating his stride and getting into the same launch positions. Swing is on plane early and does a good job rotating his core through the swing. On the mound, he showed feel for 3 different pitches. Used exclusively his fastball in game action while doing a good job commanding the strike zone. Threw all 3 offerings from a high ¾ arm slot. Corbin is a well-rounded young prospect that we hope to see again in the future.
11/08/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Columbia, SC
Corbin continues to show improvements in all his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. With 7 years to further develop, Corbin has a big upside with time and room to progress his game.
01/17/2020 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Pirate City (Ages 12-14)
Corbin increased arm strength to 58 MPH, exit velocity to 65 MPH, and showed well overall during his last workout in Pirate City. At SS, Corbin gets in a good ready position, he moves with agility to the ball, and makes plays consistently. He fields cleanly, plays through, and throws with a short/accurate arm across the diamond. Offensively, Corbin is a good hitter from both sides of the plate. From the right, Corbin has an open stance, fast bat speed, and he centers the ball well. From the left, Corbin has a short swing path, he hits line drives, and he rotates his lower body properly through the ball. Corbin showed hard work, good hustle, and the ability to makes adjustments during Spring Training.
08/11/2019 - Accelerated Interactive Video Program - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC
Corbin is a 3B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2027. In the field, Corbin shows fluid footwork and gets into an athletic position. He fields with soft hands and makes a clean exchange, working to keep his throws accurate to his target. At the plate, this switch hitter shows a solid swing from both sides. He sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting back into his load and takes a direct swing, leading to solid line drives. On the mound, Corbin gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He stays inline towards the plate and finishes with a controlled landing. Corbin shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 55mph. Knuckle ball sits from 47-48mph with some movement. Changeup sits from 50-53mph with cutting action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.
