Corey continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.20 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He tracks the ball well and presents a low target. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to get body down sooner to improve grade. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.
12/08/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Ages 14-18)
Corey is a hard working and talented 2022 prospect that made several adjustments throughout the Mid Atlantic Hitting Weekend. Corey starts in an open stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and gets his front foot down on time. He creates backside rotation in his lower half and has a simple approach. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, keep his head down at contact, and consistently barrel the baseball. Corey will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
