06/22/2013 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 Corey continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.43 runner. He utilizes his feet well, displaying proper foot work around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean but needs to be present more out front to continue to improve defensive grade. At the plate, hitting grade has improved as well through a balanced setup. Hands work inside the ball and he utilizes all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more. At the event, he was 1 for 4. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 76 mph. Fastball showed a range of 74-76 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape and shows flashes of a quality pitch when he stays on top. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength is gained. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude and is very coachable.

01/21/2013 - College PREP - Omaha, NE Corey is tall 1B/LHP with a solid pitcher's frame that will graduate in 2014. Currently, he projects best at 1B for the next level. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag, displaying clean hands. He needs to attack ground balls more, play through and present hands out front to continue to improve defensive grade. At the plate, Peters shows a solid setup with balance. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
