07/31/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Craig is a coachable C/2B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. Behind the plate, Craig sits in an athletic stance and receives well. He creates a good spine angle when blocking and keeps the ball in the middle of his body. Making a quicker exchange can help Craig improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance with his hands held high. He takes a square stride and remains centered in his lower half. He takes a level swing with decent bat speed, leading to solid contact to all fields. Craig can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. Overall, Craig is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

06/23/2019 - College PREP - Hagerstown, MD Craig is a C/2B prospect who will graduate in 2020. Behind the plate, Craig shows quick footwork and is agile moving to block. He sits in an athletic stance and receives with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate and on-line to the 2B bag. At 2B, Craig shows active footwork and fields in an athletic position. He makes a clean exchange and keeps his throws accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact and line drives. Overall, Craig is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

03/24/2019 - College PREP - Harmony (Pittsburgh), PA Craig is an athletic catcher who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a quick transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.34 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He tracks balls well and sticks balls in the zone and utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls out front. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball utilizing all fields and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. Craig has an upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
