07/05/2019 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Craig is an energetic 2-way that plays LHP/OF. On the mound Craig shows a 2-pitch mix with a FB/CB. The FB shows some AS run with an easy release and the CB shows 2-8 action with some good break. He shows confidence on the mound as he starts with simple movements and a relaxed knee lift. His separation is on time with a clean arm action and accelerates in line with the target finishing his delivery. In the OF Craig shows quick feet with + angles and first steps to the ball. He presents soft hands with clean exchanges and makes strong, accurate throws to the infield. Craig's set up at the plate is athletic with a soft, square stride and is on time. He fires his lower half through with a short swing making consistent line drive contact. Craig will be a player to watch the next few years as he plays the game with energy and a high IQ.

05/19/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Redwood City (San Francisco/San Jose), CA Craig is a long, lean, 2-way player who pitches and plays OF. On the mound, this LHP has good balance, a clean arm circle, and he separates his hands on time. He has good glove side lead, a controlled landing toward home plate, and he finishes in a complete position; competing in the zone. In the OF, Craig has smooth actions, firm hands, and he fields squarely. He tracks well, his exchange is clean, and he throws with momentum to his cut off man. Offensively, Craig has a square set-up, good balance, and he loads well. He has quick hands, fast bat speed, and he makes hard/level contact. Craig can improve already solid skills with work on the following.

1. Avoid rushing
2. Finish

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
