06/15/2013 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 Cris continues to improve and impress on both sides of the ball. A switch hitting catcher, Cris is still developing from the left side and will need to continue to get as many quality reps as possible to improve comfort/confidence. He uses his lower half well, stays extended through contact and generates quick bat speed through a strong, active lower half. He finds ways to get on base, flashes gap to gap power and should continue to work on getting his front foot down earlier to improve timing. Behind the dish, Cris is a soft sure handed receiver with a short, quick arm stroke. Energy needs to better as focus from pitch to pitch is a question but is also a common mistake made by young catchers. He has a strong arm and pop times will improve as he commits to the footwork covered at camp. Overall, Cris has a ton of potential to be an impact player at the next level and needs to continue to play hard to reach his full potential.
