10/18/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Windsor (Madison), WI Cristian continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (85 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 77 mph. Fastball showed a range of 79-80 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Cristian is a talented SS/RHP that showed well at the Pre-Season Rookie All-American. At SS, Cristian shows athletic actions with smooth footwork taking a +1st step to the ball and creating good angles. He fields the ball out in front with soft hands and makes a clean exchange as he works to throw. He shows the ability to get rid of the ball from multiple slots as he throws around the diamond. At the plate, Cristian sets up in a square stance with comfortable hands getting a short stride as he fires his lower half through. His swing is smooth as he makes consistent contact showing the ability to hit to all fields. On the mound Cristian shows a 3-pitch mix. The FB is is 73-75 MPH, the CB shows 10-4 shape with high command, and the CH is advanced at 66-67 MPH with great depth and deceptive FB arm speed. Pitching, he shows simple movements as he gathers over the rubber and separates with a fluid arm action. He keeps his stride in line as he works down the mound rotating to finish with good extension. Cristian shows great abilities as a 2-way player and will continue to develop.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
