12/14/2019 - Florida Regional Offensive Skills and Pitching/Catching Combined Weekend (Ages 14-18) Cyrus is a hard working and talented prospect that was eager to learn. On the bump, Cyrus gathers over the rubber, he has a loose arm action, and extends through his delivery. Finding a balance point, riding his leg toward the plate, and separating on time will improve his ability to work down hill. He needs to be more aggressive and command his fastball. His cutter has some action and he sinks his changeup. At the plate, Cyrus starts in a squared stance, he loads his hand back, and has a middle approach. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, rotate his lower half, and get his front foot down on time. Loading on time will help him see the ball deeper into contact. Cyrus will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/03/2019 - College PREP - Tampa, FL Cyrus is an athletic and unique 2023 2-way prospect. On the bump, Cyrus gathers over the rubber, he separates on time, and finds a balance point. He has a loose arm action and finishes over his front side. He engages his hips, he works downhill, and has rhythm in his delivery. He throws his fastball down in the zone and has good feel for his changeup. In the OF, Cyrus starts in an athletic position, he follows through on his throws, and makes the routine play. At the plate, Cyrus starts in a squared stance and gets his front foot down on time. He heeds to get continue to get to a balanced position and keep his head down on the ball. Cyrus will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/04/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Tampa, FL Cyrus worked out on the mound and in the OF during his last workout with The Factory. On the hill, Cyrus has a clean arm action, he keeps his eyes on target, and separates on time. He gets good extension on his pitches, lands with good direction, and finishes in a complete position. In the OF, Cyrus has good pre-pitch actions, he fields aggressively, and makes plays consistently. He has a clean exchange and throws with direction to his target. At the plate, Cyrus has a closed set-up, good balance, and he puts the bat on the ball. He swings on plane and flashes some pop in his bat. Cyrus can improve skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
