08/19/2012 - College PREP - Lebanon (Nashville), TN D'Andre is a young OF that will graduate in 2015. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.29 60 time. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls but needs to work on getting behind more to play through and improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate as he gets rid of the baseball quickly but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, Allen shows a balanced approach and loads well. Hands work through a level swing path and he shows a feel for the barrel, mainly to the pull side. For hitting / power grades to continue to improve, he needs to work to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields and use his lower half more. With 3 years to further develop, D'Andre has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
