Official Scouting Report

  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

12/18/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - San Bernardino, CA Dade continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate is where he has improved the most through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he shows proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases his foot quickness. On the mound, fastball ranges from 60-62 mph. Breaking ball shows 12/6 shape with gradual break. Slider is harder with tight spin but resembles breaking ball. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

11/10/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Wildomar (Los Angeles), CA Dade continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, he displays smooth / clean actions. He shows proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. On the mound, he has a good overall delivery, a good arm action, and he rotates his hips through to his target. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 63 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Dade is an athletic and talented 2023 2-wa prospect. At 1B, Dade fields the ball in an athletic position, he's aggressive to the ball, and picks the ball well. He needs to continue to be on time with his prep step, present a low early glove, and improve his foot work on double plays. He was a vacuum at first this week but needs to continue to improve his first step to the ball as well. At the plate, Dade starts in a squared stance, keeps his head down at contact, and controls the barrel. He needs to continue to load his hands back into the drive position, create backside rotation with his lower half, and be aggressive on fastballs. Continuing to make adjustments at the plate will come with experience and reps. On the bump, Dade separates on time and attacks the strike zone with both his curveball and fastball. He needs to continue to gathers over the rubber and work north to south in his delivery. Dade will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/11/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Wildomar (Los Angeles), CA Dade is a young, athletic, 2-way player who plays 1B and RHP. Defensively, Dade has a good idea, he presents his glove well, and fields in an athletic position. He keeps the ball in front, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy and consistency to his target. On the mound, Dade stands over the rubber well balanced, he separates on time, and lands in a square position toward home plate. Offensively, Dade has a square set-up, he loads well, and stands in well balanced. He finds the barrel, makes consistent contact, and uses some lower body. Overall skills can get better if Dade can improve the following.

Infield
1. Release
2. Fielding position
3. Long toss
Pitching
1. Lower body
2. Arm action
Offense
1. Widen base
2. Lower body

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
