07/30/2015 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Historic Dodgertown Daequan is a big/solid 1B that will graduate in 2018 who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying solid hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating bat speed to and through contact. He has strength in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered, mainly to his pull side. At the event, he was 2 for 6. At 1B, he displays proper foot work around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and he works to square balls up but needs to present more out front and increase foot quickness to improve defensive grade. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Daequan has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to develop.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
