12/27/2015 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Dakota Grant is a 6'1/190 lbs junior RHP/1B that showed a coachable attitude at the Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. Offensively, he was selective and worked his barrel path inside the ball. He let the ball travel deep into the zone and he found ways to pressure the defense and get on base. More lower half use and a more aggressive approach will boost hard contact frequency. Defensively at 1B, he made plays and threw accurately to his targets. He showed good backhand footwork and showed flashes of carry on his throws. Working his body lower to field with his hands in front, and quickening his feet are keys to further growth. On the hill, he threw his FB from 71-76, and spun a 10/4 CB from 56-63. He gathered himself over the rubber to initiate the process and controlled his landing to help him throw strikes. In all - Dakota has the drill set necessary to continue progressing his game.
