11/05/2015 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Dallas is a hard working coachable player. He is a great teammate and has a positive attitude. At 2B - he is aggressive and comes to get the GB. He squares up to the ball, tracks it into a sure mitt and has a clean exchange to throw. He moves well to his glove-side, makes the plays and gets his shoulders in-line to throw. Playing through the ball and gaining more ground toward 1B will help to improve his defensive skills. With the bat, this LHH shows a balanced setup with a solid base. He battles with 2-strikes and doesn't go down easy. He has the ability to take the pitch on the outer 1/2 the other way. Striding square (not closing off) will help to engage full lower 1/2 resulting in increased power. A 2017 grad - Dallas still has time to develop his skills and get stronger.

09/27/2015 - College PREP - Conway (Little Rock), AR Dallas is a lean 2B that will graduate in 2017. Feet are active as he works to square up balls, displaying clean hands. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turn of the double play. Defensive grade will continue to improve as he present hands / glove more out front and increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open / balanced setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to stay inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power grades will improve as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. With 2 years to further develop, Dallas has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
