06/21/2014 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 Dalton is an athletic, 2-way player who projects best on the mound. Dalton has a loose / free arm action, a solid delivery, and good overall mechanics. He separates on time, extends through his pitches, and competes in the zone with his pitches. Mound effectiveness will get better if Dalton can use more lower body and work on his front side lead. At 1st base, Dalton has sure hands, he moves well around the bag, and he can pick the ball out of the dirt. He has good feel for his position and delivery the ball with accuracy to his target. Defense can improve with better range, fielding further out front, and playing more through the ball. At the plate, Dalton has a closed stance, an activated load, and he swings in decent rhythm. He has a good knowledge of the zone and make consistent contact. Hitting can get better with looser actions, a more level swing, and added bat speed.
