09/27/2015 - College PREP - Conway (Little Rock), AR Dalton is a solid 2B/OF that will graduate in 2016 with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 7.27 60 time. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through an open/athletic setup. Hands are quick, generating plus bat speed to and through an aggressive swing path, creating extension. He has strength in his swing with late explosion as he uses his lower half well and works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields, displaying gap to gap pop. At 2B, feet are active as he attacks the baseball and moves well laterally, displaying range in the MIF. He shows off his athletic abilities on feeds/turns of the double play. Hands are soft/clean but needs to present more out front to continue to improve defensive grade. In the OF, he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls as he reads balls well off the bat. He needs to utilize two hands while working to get behind balls more and play through with momentum to his target to improve grade. Throws are accurate with carry as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Dalton has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his abilities, especially offensively.
