11/14/2013 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Dalton is an athletic kid who showed well at Pirate City. Defensively, he displayed plus angles to the ball with active footwork and a stable fielding position. He can work on having better body control setting up in his fielding position by breaking down his feet. On the mound, Dalton shows excellent mound presence. He works quick and keeps hitters off balance. His arm action is fluid with on time separation and good balance. Dalton can work on letting his backside follow through when he finishes and develop off speed pitches. At the plate, Dalton showed good athleticism to his swing displaying barrel accuracy and quickness. He will need to work on finishing his lower half to improve power. Overall, Dalton is a solid player who shows a lot of potential for the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
