Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/3BPosition Projection

08/05/2013 - Interactive Video Program - Bear (Wilmington), DE Dalton is a RHP/3B that has a repeatable delivery on the bump. He throws two pitches for strikes - with a FB at 63 MPH and a CB at 53-55 MPH with 11/5 shape. He is compact, has easy arm action and keeps his eyes on the target. At the hot corner, he fields in front with soft hands, has active feet, and throws with carry. Offensively, he is a good contact hitter that has good balance and is on-time with his launch. Dalton is a consistent player that can truly play both spots with some ability.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
