01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Dalton is a tall, athletic RHP that will graduate in 2016 and shows as a possible draft guy with his abilities on the mound. Delivery is sound / repeatable as he shows good tempo through a strong balance point, allowing his arm action to work quick and free to the plate. Arm strength is at a pro level as indicated by his top velocity of 90 mph. Fastball shows a range of 88-90 mph with arm side run as he hides the ball well. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with sinking action. Off speed stuff show as outstanding pitches that will get outs at the next level. Command / control is tremendous as well as he locates well to both sides of the plate, pounding the zone. Dalton has a tremendous upside on the mound and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his abilities on the mound.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
