In the field, Dalton plays with effective footwork and takes the proper angles to cover good ground. He presents his glove and does a nice job working behind the baseball. Dalton has a long arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. His throws are accurate with strong carry. As a left-handed hitter, Dalton has an open setup with a centered balance. He has a load with a short stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Dalton has a direct swing path and consistently lands the barrel to the baseball. He is a smart hitter who puts himself in hitter's counts. Dalton is a contact type hitter who has the ability to spray the ball to all fields. Overall, Dalton is a coachable prospect who plays the game the right way on both sides of the ball.
