04/22/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Louisville, KY Dalton continues to show improvements on the baseball diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.75 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Hands are soft / sure and he sticks balls in the zone but needs to present a lower target. He uses his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind balls and play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

08/03/2017 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Dalton is a coachable C/OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown. Behind the plate, Dalton works to receive the ball with soft hands. He gains ground well on his throws to 2B and keeps them accurate to the bag. Dalton can improve defensively by sitting in a lower position to receive the ball. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed and barrels the ball up well. Dalton can improve as a hitter by working a smooth load into his swing. With four more years to develop, Dalton has the time and potential to further progress his game.

04/09/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Louisville, KY Dalton is a solid/athletic C/OF. Behind the plate, this C's eyes track as he looks each pitch into his mitt. He works hard to center low pitches off his chest and makes accurate throws down to 2B. In the OF, he takes aggressive routes on fly balls. He tries to work behind the ball and play through towards his target. With the bat, Dalton displays a balanced setup. He swings on a level bat path as he looks to drive pitches back up through the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Outfield
1. Athletic routes
2. Develop soft hands
3. Quicker exchange to throw
Catching
1. Solid base
2. Stick pitches
3. Clean exchange to throw
Offense
1. Develop a load
2. Develop rhythm
3. Lower 1/2 drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
