02/04/2024 - National Showcase - Indianapolis, IN Dalton continues to show as a top prospect with his baseball abilities on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he plays through the ball with his body. Hands are soft / sure and presents out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turn of the double play. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness (6.90 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry (85 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, hitting / power potential are outstanding through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. With 2 years to further develop, Dalton has a big upside and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

03/19/2023 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Indianapolis, IN Dalton is a class of 2026 SS/OF prospect. Medium frame athletic build with strength present. Ran his 60-yard dash in 6.9 seconds. In the infield, he shows efficient feet and athletic actions. Ability to pick out hops as he fields from a square fielding position. Eyes behind glove, with good footwork, on balls hit to his backhand. Made on-line throws consistently from a 3/4 arm slot, with a clean transfer, and an arm velocity up to 81mph. In the OF, he starts with active/efficient footwork and covers ground. He plays through the baseball and fields off his left foot. Made on-line throws into infield with momentum towards his target. At the plate, he hits from a crouched and open stance. Takes an aggressive swing, with late bat whip, and uses whole field. Hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 78mph during BP. With 3 years of continued growth and development, this 2-way prospect should have a bright future on the baseball field.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Dalton is a 2026 SS/RHP who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. At SS, he starts in a relaxed position and takes aggressive angles to baseball. Good 1st step reads as he fields from a low fielding position with a low funnel. He gets rid of the baseball as he made accurate throws to first base with an arm velocity up to 76mph. At the plate, he hits from a crouched and open stance with comfortable hands. Showed a good approach as he hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 76mph during BP. During the games, he proved to be a tough out as he reached base 4 times with 2 singles, and 2 base on balls. A right-handed pitcher, he gathers over the rubber, with good rear hip coil, and strides in-line to target. Does a good job of repeating his delivery and showed good command on all of his pitches. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 77mph, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with good depth, and a changeup with cutting action that he throws with FB arm speed. Overall, Dalton is a solid 2-way player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

01/08/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (MS) Dalton is a projectable 2-way player (SS/RHP) who shines in a variety of ways on the diamond. At SS, Dalton showed off his cannon with a 73 mph arm velocity paired with an athletic ready position, active footwork, and accurate arm. Not only did he impress at short, but Dalton also shined at the plate. His athletic setup, smooth swing, and on-time rhythm would help him make hard contact consistently. Just when we thought Dalton had done it all, he stepped on the mound with an impressive 3 pitch mix. His secondary pitches showed well with good tilt on his SL and good arm action on his changeup. Overall, Dalton is a solid 2-way prospect that projects as a SS but can certainly get it done on the mound. We are excited to see where this game takes him in the future.

11/06/2020 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Dalton is a coachable SS/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Select Training & Competition in Arizona. In the field, Dalton takes a quick first step and makes the routine plays. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate throws with carry across the diamond. Presenting his glove to the ball sooner can help Dalton field ground balls more efficiently. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He works through a level swing with explosive bat speed, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. Dalton can barrel up more baseballs by working on his load timing. On the mound, Dalton separates his hands on time and works with a quick arm, staying inline toward the plate. He shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70mph with arm side run. Changeup sits at 61mph. Being more controlled gathering to his balance point can help Dalton improve his pitch command. With six more years to develop, Dalton has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

12/29/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Indianapolis, IN Dalton is a young, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Dalton has active feet, he covers ground, and fields squarely. He has firm hands, works around the ball well, and his exchange is clean with a consistent arm across the diamond. On the mound, Dalton has good balance and a clean arm action. He separates his hands on time, lands toward home with a proper length stride, and he competes in the zone. Offensively, Dalton has an athletic set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has fast bat speed, swings on plane, and he can work the ball gap to gap. Overall skills can continue to improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
