05/28/2023 - National Showcase - York, PA Damien is an athletic OF/SS who will graduate in 2024. In the OF, he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness (7.05 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Throws are accurate but he will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Damien has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
