01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Damon continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. At SS, he has plus lateral range, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping (93 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate - he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack - crushing the ball to the deep parts of the park (exit velocity = 93 mph). A projectable SS - Damon has the makings of a solid draft pick in 2018.

06/16/2017 - USA Baseball 17U Championships Damon is a coachable player who worked hard on his skills during his time at the USA Baseball 17U Championships. At SS, Damon shows fluid footwork and is very agile moving to the ball. He gets into a low, athletic position and fields the ball with soft hands in front of his body. He shows a quick, clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws which allows them to remain accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride to the ball. He is smooth getting into his load and finishes with a firm front side in his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed and great extension which leads to hard contact and gap to gap power. On the mound, Damon has a repeatable delivery with a long, loose arm action. He shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 85mph. Breaking ball ranges from 71-74mph with late 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 72-74mph with good sinking action as he throws with fastball arm speed. Overall, Damon is a talented prospect who has the skill set to perform well both in the field and on the mound.

06/03/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Damon is a broad-shouldered, athletic built SS/RHP prospect who has a talented, versatile skill set. In the field, Damon plays with fluid footwork and agile actions moving well in each direction laterally. He presents his glove and fields the ball with good rhythm in a low, athletic position. He has a soft hands leading to a quick, clean exchange. Damon plays with good momentum through the baseball and he has a loose arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. His throws are accurate with good strength behind them at 88 MPH across the diamond. Offensively, Damon has a tall, square stance with a centered balance. He has quiet rhythm with a good load and on-time stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Damon shows fast bat speed and gets good extension with his hands to produce consistently hard contact. He is a line drive hitter who has the ability to drive the ball to each gap. On the mound, Damon has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot with a clean arm action. He extends through his release and stays square to home plate with a controlled landing. Damon effectively works downhill and gets good rotation with his core finishing towards his target. He has a good sink on his fastball at 80-82 MPH. He also features a curveball with good depth and a deceptive changeup with tail movement. Overall, Damon has skill on both sides of the ball and the talent to be an impactful player at the next level.

01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Damon is an impressive two-way 2018 athlete that ran a 6.81 sixty at the UAPSAA Event with Baseball Factory. Offensively, he has quick hands and sprays the ball to all fields with his natural leverage. He is smooth from start to finish and has strong upside as he taps more into his lower half. At SS, he moves efficiently around the ball and has soft/easy hands, making plays with ease. He is clean with his exchange and the ball carries well across the diamond. On the mound, Damon competes with a three pitch mix consisting of a FB/CB/CH. He has good rhythm in his delivery and is effortless to repeat his actions. Overall - as a junior this spring, Damon already has all the makings of a next level shortstop with his 6'3/180 lbs frame.

07/20/2016 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Damon continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a tremendous future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a tremendous runner at 6.88. Damon's defensive abilities are now well above average, displaying smooth, fluid actions. He moves well laterally, displaying range and works through a low to high approach, playing through the ball well. Hands are soft and clean as he makes the plays. At the plate, hitting abilities are now outstanding with tremendous power potential. Hands are quick (91 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path as he makes consistent contact, staying inside the ball well, utilizing all fields. He shows a feel for the barrel with the baseball exploding off the bat. At the event, he was 4 for 10 with a 3B and HR. On the mound, Damon's fastball showed a range of 80-81 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual breaking action. He shows a feel for his changeup with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches. Command is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches. He displays an upside and pitch ability on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard. With 2years to further develop, Damon has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.

03/13/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Monterey Park (Los Angeles), CA Damon continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an outstanding runner at 6.99. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 82 mph. Fastball shows good arm side run through a downhill plane. Off speed stuff are outstanding, showing as quality pitches that will get outs at the next level. Control is outstanding as well as he throws strikes with all his pitches. In the MIF, feet are quick, athletic as he works around balls and presents glove well out front. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. At the plate, hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a solid line drive approach. Power will increase as he loads more and works more aggressively through the lower half. Damon has a ton of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.

12/27/2015 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Damon showed good skill and ability at the Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic. Defensively, he showed good actions, working to the baseball well, getting into his fielding position with his glove out in front. His glove was soft to secure the ball and he had good actions on both sides of double play balls. Offensively, he was direct to contact with his path and was loose with the barrel for plus hand/hip fluidity. He was aggressive to take hacks and worked on implementing more control to launch. On the mound, he threw a FB for a high volume of strikes, and spun a 10/4 SL from 62-63. He threw to contact and repeated his delivery with free/clean arm action. His two pitch mix kept hitters off balance and with a CH added to the repertoire will became even more effective. Overall - Damon does a lot of things well on the diamond and with another two years to add speed and strength will take his game to the next level.

11/08/2015 - College PREP - Lake Elsinore (Los Angeles), CA Damon is a talented 2-way player (3B/RHP) who has an athletic build. Defensively at the hot corner, he shows active prep moving well on the balls of his feet. He works fluidly around the GB from right to left and plays through the ball well, gaining ground toward 1B. Release is quick with strong/accurate throws across the diamond. Offensively, Keith shows a balanced setup with fluid rhythm to load. He fires the barrel to and through the zone with speed, squares the ball up and drives it with some pop. Even more power potential is there with more use of his lower 1/2. On the mound, this RHP has an effective 3-pitch mix in which to keep hitters guessing. He has smooth separation, stays directional and fires from a loose/free arm action. FB ranges fro 75-77 mph while showing run. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with late/sharp action. Changeup is best off-speed pitch as he throws it with FB arm speed. It shows arm-side run and will he a solid 'K' pitch. Damon is a versatile athlete who has a bright future ahead of him in the game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
