09/09/2009 - Under Armour Fall Classic - 2009 Hurlimann showed above average arm strength, certainly enough for either left side infield position. He consistently made routine plays in games, and showed good glove side range. Main areas for improvement are quickness in feet and quickness in release. At the plate, he saw the ball deep into the hitting zone - and not surprisingly, hit the ball well to the opposite field in batting practice. In game at bats, it appeared that his open stance caused him some trouble - will need to solidify his lower half in order to handle pitches in more parts of the strike zone. He has a lot of ability to work with, and his left handed bat makes him especially interesting . On the mound, he jumped his top end fastball up from 78 to 81. He threw a lot of strikes, but arm action needs to be lengthened and loosened if he is to pursue pitching. Overall, his value as a college prospect is in his left handed bat and defensive potential.
