09/27/2015 - College PREP - Bellevue (Seattle), WA Dane continues to progress as he shows to be quite an offensive threat. With the bat, this righty shows a square/athletic setup with centered balance. Quick hands whip the barrel through the zone as he hits the ball where it's pitched and sprays it to all parts of the field. At the hot corner - Dane shows active footwork as he works to get around the GB into a low fielding position. He is sure handed, gathers well and works in-line toward his target at 1B. Dane is a solid athlete who will make an impact with the bat.

12/27/2014 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Dane is a hard worker who has a high baseball IQ. He is a coachable player who is willing to make adjustments to his game to take him to the next level. With the bat, this RHH shows an open setup as he strides square when the pitch is delivered. Swing path is level as he connects and drives the middle of the field. He puts he barrel on the ball consistently and puts pressure on the defense. Working back into a loaded position sooner will help improve timing to swing. In the OF, Dane is aggressive to tracks down fly-balls hit to his right and left. He takes solid routes/angles and catches it at its highest point. He hustles all over and can cover some ground. Getting into position behind the ball and playing through it more will help him to develop in the OF. Only a 2017 grad - Dane plays the game hard every day and will only continue to improve.

09/28/2014 - College PREP - Bellevue (Seattle), WA Dane is a R/R 2-way player as a 3B/OF. At the plate, this RHH shows a square setup with good balance. He takes an aggressive hack and hits line-drives to all parts of the field. Increased power will come with more lower 1/2 drive. At 3B, Dane shows active footwork as he puts himself into position behind the ground ball. He presents his glove and fields the ball out in front. Playing through the ball more will help to improve abilities at 3B. In the OF, he takes good routes/angles as he works behind the fly-ball. He secures the ball with 2 hands and has a clean exchange to throw. Only a 2017 grad - Dane has time and is a few adjustments away from unlocking his potential.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
