01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Dane continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws on a line (87 mph velocity) through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. A RHH - he stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects with power driving all parts of the field.

10/11/2017 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Dane has the makings of a special type player at the next level as he displays outstanding tools across the board. In the OF, actions are smooth, clean, and quick. He reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. Range is a plus as he covers a lot of ground and shows big play potential in the OF. He works behind the baseball and plays through with momentum to his target. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (89 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Once on base, he utilizes his outstanding foot speed to get around the bases quickly. He plays with high energy and gets after it full throttle on the diamond. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Dane has a big upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

07/26/2017 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Dane continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. In the OF, he displays smooth / athletic actions. He reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. Range is a plus as he covers a lot of ground and shows big play potential in the OF. He works behind the baseball and plays through with momentum to his target and gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate he shows a squared setup and good plate discipline. Hands are quick (95 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Once on base, he utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in getting around the bases. At the event we was 4 for 9. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best he can be.

06/24/2017 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Dane continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a tremendous future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an excellent runner at 6.80. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is outstanding as he reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his quick feet well in covering a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a great kid and is very coachable and plays the game the right way.

03/26/2017 - College PREP - Kentfield (San Francisco), CA Dane is an athletic built outfield prospect who has a talented skill set on both sides of the ball. As a right-handed hitter, Dane has an athletic stance with a firm front side and centered balance. He has a fluid load with a short stride. Dane shows explosive bat speed with a short swing path that produces hard contact. He has a line drive approach and can drive the ball to the pull side. In the field, Dane plays with quick footwork and agile body actions giving him the ability to cover good ground. He presents his glove and fields the ball athletically. Dane has a quick exchange leading into a long arm action throwing from a high 3/4 slot. He has a quick release resulting in strong, accurate throws. Overall, Dane is a projectable prospect who has the talent and approach to become an impactful player at the next level.

08/08/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Dane is a long, athletic player in the outfield with a projectable body. He uses his long levers to generate serious power at the dish, driving the ball to all fields with authority. He has a patient approach at the plate with good rhythm, looking for the pitch he can handle. His bat is very quick through the zone, going directly to the ball with power generated from his lower half. In the outfield, this athlete covers a lot of ground with his blazing speed, getting to balls most fielders don't have a shot at. He shows fluid feet to play through the ball and gain momentum to show off his strong arm on throws. Getting better reads on balls is the final step to becoming a complete outfielder. Dane is a very exciting young prospect who looks to be a nice prospect for the next level.

04/17/2016 - College PREP - Kentfield (San Francisco), CA Dane is a solid C/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 60 time of 6.96. In the OF, he reads balls well off the bat and takes proper first steps in tracking down balls through proper routes / angles. Feet are aggressive as he works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. He loads well and displays quick hands (91 mph exit velocity) that work through a level swing path. Barrel accuracy is a plus with power showing best to the pull side. He has strength in his swing with baseball exploding off bat when centered. With 2 years to further develop, Dane has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
