06/24/2017 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Dane continues to show progress in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.17 runner. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork in attacking balls. He works to square ground balls up but needs to play through more with his body. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He shows a feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off the bat when centered with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 84 mph. Fastball showed a range of 81-84 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Mental makeup is a plus as he is extremely coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Dane has an upside on the mound and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.
