12/27/2018 - 2018 Inaugural West Coast Winter Classic - La Verne, CA Dane is an athletic and talented 2024 SS prospect that made several adjustments throughout the week. At SS, Dane is on time with his prep step, fields the ball in an athletic position, and presents a low/early glove. He makes accurate throws and has good footwork on double plays. Continuing to improve hip mobility will improve his first step and range to the ball. At the plate, Dane starts in an open stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and gets his front foot down on time. He creates backside drive with his lower half and has explosive hands to the ball. He needs to continue to stay behind the ball and stay balanced through contact. Dane hits the ball to all fields and was aggressive in fastball counts. Dane was eager to learn and will continue to improve with experience.

10/07/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Parker (Denver), CO Dane is an athletic 2-way player who plays SS and OF. In the INF, Dane has active feet, soft hands, and he works around the ball well. He fields in rhythm, makes plays consistently, and throws with accuracy to his target. In the OF, Dane has efficient footwork, he takes proper angles, and works behind the ball well. He plays through, has a clean exchange, and throws with momentum to his cut off man. At the plate, Dane has an open stance, a square stride, and he swings in good rhythm. He has loose hands, creates backspin, and uses some lower body. Dane can further improve skills with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
