Official Scouting Report

  • OFPosition Projection

07/23/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Daniel continues to show a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an uphill swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

05/29/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Jupiter, FL Daniel is a lean, athletic OF/SS. Defensively in the OF, he hustles hard as he tracks down hard-hit fly balls. He attacks the GB and comes up with a clean exchange to throw. Over at SS, he takes active angles as he works into an athletic fielding position. He funnels GB's with smooth hands and has a clean exchange to throw. With the bat, Daniel shows an athletic setup and gets back into a good load. He creates consistent contact by whipping his barrel fast through the zone and drives pitches from gap to gap. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Lateral range
2. Develop soft hands
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Outfield
1. Quick 1st step
2. Get behind the fly ball
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Offense
1. Develop rhythm
2. Front foot timing
3. Extend through contact

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
