01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Daniel is a strong (6'0"/190) OF who is fun to watch. As a hitter - he shows a strong base with fluid rhythm as he waits for his pitch. He squares the ball up consistently and creates good extension through the zone. He will be a solid fit for the middle of the batting order where he'll be able to tally up some RBI's. In the OF, Budke moves athletically covering a ton of ground. He plays through the ball aggressively, gaining ground and firing strong throws from a loose arm. Daniel is a very talented prospect whose tools will play at a high level.

11/07/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures Texas Daniel has made big strides since we last saw him and is an outstanding young prospect. He is athletic and has present strength on his well-proportioned frame. At the plate he has naturally good hands that help him to delivery the barrel on time with consistency. His stroke is a geared more for line drives and he uses the middle of the field well with flashes of power. Smoothing out the rhythm in his double stride approach should unlock even more for him offensively. As a defender, he is a versatile player - very capable at either corner OF spot and 3B. He is aggressive and confident at all spots with a quick first step, sure hands and a quick exchange and release. His throws have good carry and his arm is very accurate from all spots. This is a potential high ceiling player with a natural feel to hit.

11/23/2014 - College PREP - Tomball (Houston), TX Daniel is a skilled 2-way player (3B/RHP) who has an athletic build. Offensively, this RHH shows a square setup with balance and a strong base. He works back into a loaded position, delivers the barrel with strength and connects showing pop to his pull side. He creates good extension through contact and hits line-drives. At 3B, he shows active footwork as he moves into position behind the ground ball. He can make the touch backhand play down the line and has a quick transfer/exchange to throw. On the bump, Budke works to a tall balance point and drives off, in-line toward the plate. He has good command and can spot the FB as it tops out at 81 mph. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with sharp break, proving to be a solid out pitch. This 2017 grad has skills and will only continue to improve in the upcoming years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
