06/22/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Troy (Albany), NY Daniel continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. Delivery is sound and repeatable allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball has been up to 87 already this summer with a downhill plane. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with sharp/late bite. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a feel for the pitch with arm side run and sink. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. At the plate, he shows an open setup. He is aggressive as he attacks balls through a level swing path. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Daniel is a tall SS/RHP prospect who continued to showcase his skills during the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. In the field, Daniel takes a good first step and shows efficient footwork. He makes the routine plays and makes a clean exchange, keeping his throws accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets his hands activated on time in a small load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent line drives to all fields. On the mound, Daniel gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Daniels shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 84mph. Breaking ball sits from 71-72mph with 11-5 break. Overall, Daniel is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

06/24/2019 - College PREP - Troy (Albany), NY Daniel continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth/clean actions. Feet are active and aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft/clean and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the bump, delivery is sound/repeatable allowing his arm action to work loose/clean to the plate. He works through a quick tempo and shows a 3 pitch mix and throws strikes with all his pitches. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 82 mph. Fastball showed a range of 80-82 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Daniel is a tall SS/RHP prospect who showcased his skills at the All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament. In the field, Daniel takes a good first step and displays efficient footwork. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front with sure hands. He makes a clean exchange and keeps his throws accurate with carry across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is on time getting into a small load and takes a level swing, leading to solid line drives. On the mound, Daniel gathers over the rubber and stay inline towards the plate. He shows a two pitch mix with his fastball showing cutting action. Breaking ball sits from 62-66mph with 10-4 break. With three more years to develop, Daniel has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/17/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Daniel continues to shine on the diamond where he continues to show improvements in his baseball tools. He was named MVP of the Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, displaying sure hands as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, hitting potential has improved through a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 5 for 7. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 80 mph. Fastball shows a range of 76-80 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late/sharp break. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to develop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

06/25/2018 - College PREP - Troy (Albany), NY Daniel continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, defensive abilities are now outstanding as he displays smooth fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft and he presents well out front. Throws are accurate as well. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

12/10/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Nyack (NYC), NY Daniel is a long/lean (6'0"/135) SS/RHP who has a ton of skill. With the bat, this righty displays an athletic setup with centered balance and fluid rhythm to load. He tracks pitches in the zone and off of the barrel, as he squares the ball up with pop. He creates extension through the zone and drives the ball on a line. At SS, Daniel has active footwork with athletic/smooth actions. He works around and through the ball, gathers well and has a quick transfer to throw. On the mound, this RHP has an effective 3-pitch mix in which he keeps hitters guessing. He works to a controlled balance point, keeps his eyes on the target and repeats his delivery well. FB cracks the mitt at 72 mph while showing slight arm side run. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with good action. He fills up the zone and throws strikes. Continuing to work on the following will help to take his game to the next level.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
