Davis showed similar abilities as we had previously seen in San Antonio, TX. Hitting grades have improved to slightly above average through a balanced approach. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed as he works to keep hands / barrel through the ball at contact, creating extension through a level swing path. At 1B, he displays proper foot work around the bag and is a big, quality receiver. He needs to work on increasing foot speed through a speed / agility program and stay on long toss program to build more arm strength.

Daniel is a young, 1st baseman / catcher with a big frame and strong lower 1/2. In the INF, Daniel has playable hands and feet, and he squares his body well on ground balls. He has decent body control, makes the routine play, and his exchange is quick and clean. Daniel has a short arm action with average strength and good consistency to his target. Defensive tool grades can get better by fielding the ball further out in front of his body, quickening his feet, and adding arm strength. Behind the plate, Daniel has sure hands, he tracks the ball well, and his feet are playable. He squares up well when blocking, deadens it softly on his chest, and his exchange is efficient. Daniel has a short / quick arm with decent accuracy to his target. Catching skills can improve with better lateral movements and strengthening his arm. Offensively, Daniel has an athletic set-up, a proper load, and good balance. His hands are strong, he tracks the ball well, and he has pop to the pull side. If Daniel can loosen his grip, shorten his swing, and finish better, average hitting grades can get better.
